Open Letter to Yussie….Happy Birthday My Friend!!

Dear Yussie,

Today marks the day of your 24th Birthday!

Today represents not only another year of your life, but another year of our friendship. And oh, what a year it has been! We have been friends for about two and half years now, but it seems like more of a lifetime. Nobody would ever know that our friendship is still that fresh. We have so much in common, everyone asks if we are sisters, or even twins!! Although we may not actually be blood related, I still consider you my sister, and will celebrate this birthday with you, as if I was your twin!

Occasions such as this, give you a chance to reflect on the year passed, and SO much has happened this year to date. We went back to school, graduated in Fashion Event Planning for the second time, planned events, had the official launch party for Montreal Fashion Minds and so much more. It’s crazy to think about our accomplishments over the year. To think of all the wonderful things that have happened to us since we last celebrated your birthday. I would not have done it any other way, and could not imagine being on this journey with anyone else!

When I think about age and growing older, grey hair and wrinkles is not what comes to mind. What I think about is becoming older, wiser and more experienced in life. As we grow older, and work hard to achieve our life’s goals, we become more confident and distinguished. We find ourselves, and become the person we want to be.

We recently had a conversation about what would have happened had we met earlier in life, and agreed that things would not have been the same. If we were younger, we wouldn’t have been as motivated, or determined in school, where we met. We would not have worked as hard to get to where we are today. The timing was fate. We found each other when we needed one another most. Our personal and professional goals, as well as our parallel personalities have truly brought us together, and have made us inseparable. We compliment each other in so many ways, and I consider myself blessed to be able to call you my best friend.

There is no better time of year, then your birthday, the holidays, and the New Year to be celebrating, having fun, relaxing and looking back on the past year.

Cheers to you, my friend, on your 24th Birthday!! May all your wishes come true!! Wishing you all the best in health, happiness and success, for many years to come! As us Jews say, till 120!!

Montreal Fashion Minds Blogiversary Celebration

As you all know, we, Montreal Fashion Minds, celebrated our 1 year anniversary on November 6th.

We started our evening off by arriving in style at restaurant L’Assommoir in trendy, Old Montreal. The restaurant has an urban-chic feel and it caters to business professionals in a elegant yet laid-back environment.

It has two floors of gorgeous old stone and warm woodwork with glowing niches of bright light that give a sense of elegance and class.



Upon arrival we were graciously greeted by the manager, who made us feel very welcomed. We sat at their beautiful wooden bar and ordered two ‘BlingBling’ Cosmos, which is one of their specialty cocktails. They offer a choice of 300 different kinds of cocktails… so delicious!

After our drinks we headed to a cozy table for two. We shared some yummy quesadillas and organic tortilla chips with a four cheese artichoke dip.

After our delicious dinner we headed over to the AMC Forum on St. Catherine to see the movie ‘The September Issue’. We enjoyed some popcorn, fashion inspiration and got an inside view of the life the infamous Anna Wintour. Fabulous!

We ended the night on high note! We had so much fun and can’t wait to celebrate our 2nd blogiversary!
